Rushing next year?

Hey I'm a high school senior, Alabama is my first choice school for next year and I'm planning on rushing!
Is there anything I need to do before hand to let sororities know I'm interested in rushing (aside from actually signing up for rush) like should I reach out to active members or follow sorority Instagram's?
I know it's real early and it's almost a year away but I know it's really competitive so I don't want to not be doing stuff that could help me?

1). Keep your grades up.
2). Stay in touch with older girls you know who are already at Alabama.
3). Get recs for every sorority and aim to have them submitted in by May.
4). Follow every sorority on Instagram, not just the few where you already know someone.

Keep your grades up, stay involved at school and in your community, volunteer for causes you’re passionate about, and stop reading Greek Rank. Go literally almost anywhere else for advice.

Also don’t stress out too much. It’s a year away. You’ll be fine as long as you stay focused.

Is there anything that you really shouldn’t wear? I’ve looked at the Greek chic but I mean like patterns versus solid dress, black, shoes etc...

It’s really hot here so nothing heavy and I would say sleeveless and nothing too tight
