Alpha Gamma Delta
by: pnmHi, I’m liberal, Christian and very pro lgbt+. I loved alpha gam so much this week but I’m scared I will feel out of place. Any advice?

Have no idea what your options are. AGD is a great house with a very strong history at Bama - First Circle and all that - but I will say that it is one of the most conservative houses on campus.
I think you will find other liberal member for sure, but you will probably have more like-minded sisters in almost any other house.

I really don't think this is the house for you. I had a different experience than you bc different beliefs but I'll share anyway: I rushed without knowing how Christian Agd was... (I know that's on me lol) I was shocked when I got to the house for a new member event and there were older members repeatedly bringing up god in a PowerPoint. Yes, there was also a prayer. Things like religion, politics, support of LGBTQ+ DO NOT come up during rush. The girls I talked to during rush were sweet, kind, and good at keeping a conversation going. This is true to how they were in real life but I had no idea of what they really valued as a sisterhood and was a little blindsided by it. Not to say there's anything wrong with it but i would've fit in better somewhere else. Agd is notoriously very Christian and conservative, which normally equates to less support of the lgbtq+ community although in college you'll still find a good deal of support anywhere. If you do go Agd make the best of it and seek the girls like you. There will inevitably be some there in such a large group of girls, you just may feel in the minority. Hope I could help
