I am a legacy and don't want my moms house
by: ConfessionMy mom was a International president of a sorority on old row. She was the president when she wasn't married so I don't have her last name. I tried really hard to hide it by not taking letters of rec from only her friends. I think they found out though. I'm so nervous that other chapters are going to find out and cut me even though I DON’T WANT TO BE IN THAT HOUSE. I know being on old row is supposed to be a big deal but these girls are not my cup of tea. What should I do?

Stop talking about your mom's presidency.
Go to the houses you like.
You have no control over who drops you and who keeps you.
Don't disparage your mom's sorority to anyone. It just makes you look small.
Don't tell your mom's sorority that you don't like them. You could like them (houses have like 400 girls -- you can find friends in any of them.)
Trust the process.

Some houses-mine I know-put legacies at the top of our bid list if we still have them on pref. I wouldn’t say any more about this to anyone including your rho chi bc as much as they “disassociate” from their houses they still find ways talk to them and give them scoop. Also other houses can pull legacy recs and prob narrow u down so I would drop it...

I'm so nervous because I'm afraid the other chapters will find out. Like should I just tell them first? I wanted to talk to my group leader but I'm afraid one of them might be it.
