Houses here need more diversity

In order to get more POCs in the houses, more need to rush. We can’t offer bids to girls who don’t rush, and when only a handful of pocs rush each year, there obviously aren’t going to be very many per house. And then pocs see the mostly white house’s and don’t want to rush because they don’t want to be surrounded by white girls, so it’s this endless cycle of pocs not wanting to rush, so there’s not very many in the houses, so they don’t want to rush, so there’s not very many, etc. Imo the focus needs to be more on encouraging pocs to rush so we have more chances to diversify

The trouble is, all frats and srats were founded by and admitted white men and women, and it was that way since sometimes the 1800s so the divine 9 were set up. Greek life is an institution built on segregation. Probably Women of color would prefer to go Alpha Kappa Alpha just because it's their culture. Like houses don't on purpose not give bids to poc

I’m gonna get hate for this, but I truly believe Greek life should be completely desegregated. All black houses are just as bad as all white houses in that they promote segregation. IFC and APA orgs should definitely try to get more poc members, but when NPC orgs exist, it’s extremely hard to get pocs to join traditionally “white” houses. Always being surrounded by people with the same culture as you keeps you from learning from and celebrating your differences
