North Carolina
by: pnmI know a lot of people say some sororities look for girls from the south and don’t like northern girls. Would NC count even though it doesn’t have any SEC schools?

I rushed coming from NC and I would definitely say it makes it difficult because you’re not considered southern (although it is better than many other states, it is often not enough of a pull for super southern sororities) and you’re definitely not considered a northern/city girl.

^so basically being from NC won’t provide any of the special southern benefits to you during rush and can have some slight negative to very southern houses. NC as a home state ‘doesn’t matter’. I love being from there, but having actually rushed saying it myself that’s the truth
