Letters of Rec: Is this okay?

I don't have any greek affiliation which has made the proccess of getting letters of rec difficult. After sending out a post on facebook, I managed to get a few from family friends. But that being said, I'm still missing letters from a majority of the chapters.

I live in a college town that just so happens to share a lot of the same sororities that I'm missing letters for... would it be weird if reached out to a representative from my college town and ask them to write a letter for me? Or is it weird to ask a stranger for help? Thanks!

I think they will understand being asked for letters, make sure when you are contacting them be polite and paint yourself in a good light, and always send thank you letters :) (not sure what region you’re from, but i’m from up North)

OP here: figured I should just say that I live near Boulder, CO! Additionally, if I do reach out to someone from that chapter, who should I be looking to contact?

You should reach out to alumni groups from your city! I’m rushing this fall at bama and that’s where I got many of my recs from! Also look at Facebook groups!
