Quite a few. They usually have some other attribute, or have connections within the chapter already. They also often have 2.8 or 2.9.

Honey, you're at UA. 3.0 is a high GPA.

you can hate all you want but Auburn capped its students this year at 25,000 - easily could have taken more.
minimum hs gpa for acceptance was 3.85 and act was a 29

how do so many girls coming out of high school have such low GPAs? I know this is Bama so it gets the "dumb SEC" rep but I don't get it. It's really not that hard, even if you went to a ~competitive high school. These girls wouldn't last a day at UT, everyone is top 10%

No offense to UA's Texan students. In AL, we don't have a law letting in every single person who's in the top ten percent of their class bc some classes are really freakin easy to be in the top 10%. Just saying

at UT it's not top 10% anymore. They plan on going down. It was 8% when I graduated and I think it's 7% or 6%.

UT is nationally ranked as one of the best schools in the world. Alabama isn't. But I like Alabama more because of the football and culture. Austin just was NOT for me lol

is like 50th and I think bama is 77th, so they're not that different. So they're both "nationally ranked," but idk about the logic of being the nationally ranked as one of the best schools in the world... Do you mean internationally ranked? Bc they aren't that high in the US, I doubt they're up there in the world spectrum

UA is known as a school you go to if you can't get into more competitive schools with the exception of the AL locals. Almost any kid from GA that is at UA couldn't get into UGA and they end up at UA or Auburn.

That's only bc UA is desperately trying to make UA one of the biggest public schools in the nation. How else are we supposed to have 30-35,000 students? If UA was smaller, yes, they could be more selective. Also, UGA and other Georgia schools are only that selective bc of the HOPE scholarship footing the bill of students who stay in state. Most kids in GA want to stay so their college is taken care of. Alabama doesn't have anything like that. That said, I'm not saying UA is better, just that it's easier to get into for several reasons.

I got into UT and went Bama instead. It wasn't that hard to get into UT. At least, not in my opinion

Not too far under 3.0 will get a bid and not many will! It'll be a very special girl that the sorority is willing to take the grades risk
