This seemed like an “odd” recruitment, as many houses seemed to be adjusting.
Some OR opened to more OOS/R, some OR went a little more QR but gained looks, some NR got more instate than usual, some lower GPA looks houses upped their grade limit, and some “lower” houses picked up some of the hot QRs getting looked over by houses making a shift.
And there was an ovearall sense that there were limited very top pnms, but at the same time a better “average” pnm.
It seems it may be that many houses are better as a result - as many rounded out some “weaknesses”. It’s a bit early to tell.
Does anyone else get the same vibe??? \n\n\n\n\n

Not sure it is a matter of upping their game in that OOS/OOR pnms are the majority of the girls going through rush, so relying on the traditional recruiting areas will not provide them enough of a pool of candidates to make quota.

This recruitment made big strides in continuing to eliminate the “in-state” versus “out of state” divide between old and new row. It was a maturation we needed. Every house improved overall with the diversity. I like how it all settled in the end.

Nope. The old row houses are just trying to get the best girls they can and taking too many legacies and focusing too much on “just okay” in state pnms over OOS/OOR with fewer connections is causing some to lose status. Think This year we saw a more wide open competition for the best OOS and OOR. In particular, XO and KD got more in the game on those than usual.

That’s a bit of a leak!
Note, every comment states old row Improved by taking OOS and OOR
No one has suggested and our has improved in getting more in state girls. This suggestion is that these in-state girls were bringing OR down.
The biaa is toward OR, no matter what move they make. In this by us will be there forever\n\n\n\n\n

Not at all. The old row houses have much more tradition and local support. This will, if anything, just reinforce the ranks as they are now. The average in state girls will go new row more than in the past and the awesome oor girls will not have to settle for ADPi, Pi phi and zeta.

In other words, old row is even harder to get for in state, generally making them more (not less) exclusive. Machine is involved with almost every house already. So no impact on that.
