Every chapter made quota. Some with fewer members took quota additions to come closer to chapter total.

Quota additions are to ensure that every pnm who has attended and ranked her houses gets a bid. Quota addition is for the pnm's, it is not for the houses. If quota additions benefit some houses that need numbers then that's great, but that's not why we do it.

Only chapters that need to fill membership up to chapter total are allowed to take significant quota additions. Chapters who remain around campus chapter total cannot.

The previous poster was correct - QAs occur because of guaranteed placement not because of a chapter's proximity to campus total. Every PNM who "maximizes her options" throughout recruitment - meaning she attends the maximum parties she has been invited to each round - is guaranteed a bid. This is part of RFM. So, if ABC sorority matches 100 PNMs but 25 of their pref party attendees who did not match to them had ABC as their only pref and maximized their options, these 25 will get bids to ABC in addition to the 100 who matched.

@Not true is correct. QA is about the PNM's, not about the houses. Back in the day, a lot of great girls got left without a house because there was no such thing as Quota Plus; once a house reached quota that was it, no more pledges. It is so much better now. If a girl prefs at two houses and she doesn't initially match with either, she WILL get a bid, no matter if one or both houses are at or above total membership or not. Quota Addition is entirely for the benefit of the PNM's.

Anybody asking if a house made quota is showing their age, the old fixed quota that each house strived to achieve is so ancient. Those were the days were pledge class sizes were capped at one number for all houses. All the old row moms use to point fingers at the houses that didn't make quota and make comments on why their houses were superior because they made quota. That all worked when pnm numbers were around 1000 girls going through rush.

Yes and no. There is still quota but it is set in favor of the PNMs now instead of the chapters. If there was no quota then chapter AAA could issue as many bids or as few as they wanted. They could theoretically take all of PNMs and leave none for other chapters. This is what used to happen years ago. RFM was not in place and stronger chapters would over invite to preference to make them look more popular and then 3/4 of the PNMs there wouldn't get a bid.

With RFM, quota is not an exact number is more of a range such as 103-108 plus upperclass quota. So there is a quota, it's just figured differently and now with QAs, chapter may easily surpass quota without hurting the numbers in another chapter.
