All these ranks and bashing each other is awful. All I wanted was to come here and join a house. I was completely dropped, I’m devistated and everyone here just fights over who is better than who. mean comments, bashing each other it’s just awful!

I am average in looks and was not good at small talk during recruitment, and I was dropped. However, I got selected to freshman forumn ( yea, go figure I would be comfortable then) and ran for SGA rep. I was picked up during COB and had several houses interested. So get busy getting involved!!!

Good for you! However, this just solidifies how biased this process really is for formal recruitment. The search for "top pnms". Whatever that means. Lists ahead of time. It's honestly such a biased unfair process. There are countless stories of beautiful smart fun girls who were not even considered because of this "process" and where you are from and who you know. I think recruitment numbers in the future will continue to decrease as they have been. Girls with looks, top grades, recommendations etc are completely bipassed for the "in" girls. It's a very sad state of affairs.

I was dropped too! I honestly think I was dropped because I didn’t have any Alabama connections, I did have letters of rec for several houses but not from any Alabama alum, my grades were okay about a 3.6, I think I’m pretty and I’m very outgoing. The houses I connected with weren’t top houses on here. Not sure what went wrong but I agree with the original poster it’s pathetic to see everyone here ranking and judging when I’d be happy just to be in a sorority.

It is a brutal process and very slanted towards instate pnms from certain areas. Give sk a look. There are no guarantees but definitely worth a look.

For all the PNMs who got dropped, definitely try SK! With a positive attitude like y'all seem to have, you'd be great additions to our Greek community. No one can truly tell you why you were dropped, but if you choose to pursue SK and then have your turn recruiting girls for the next few years, you can give a great home to those girls who sometimes fall through the cracks.

My roommate was OOR (we met in facebook and she is the best ever) and she came into recruitment without much prep and was dropped after sisterhood. She was so supportive and excited for me and the rest of us in tut that made it through pref that I think we all mentioned her to our new pledge moms if we heard our chapter was doing COB, and she ended up getting a COB bid probably because of that. No, it's not guaranteed, but if the girls in your hall is how great you are, and if you get involved like someone else said, you have a better cob chance. Also SK is an amazing opportunity because they are going to look closely atbyournspeciicf resume, not your AL connections, so that may be your home!
