cuts after philanthropy

by: Curious

Curious on the amount that will be cut on average from houses after philanthropy and what criteria is used. It seems cuts were deep after IWT. Will it be as deep after philanthropy?

The amount varies from house to house based on return numbers from previous years. Typically old row makes their highest number of cuts the first round and other houses have more drastic cuts later on. First round cuts are also largely due to GPA, lack of letters of rec or connections in any houses.

I know when I went through rush and a lot of other girls in my rho chi group I was friends with had our biggest cut after philanthropy. I went from 8 houses on Philanthropy to 3 then Preffed 2 of those houses. I am from OOR (west coast) so was expecting to have large cuts after IWT from old row houses.

Were the cuts from both or and nr houses? Or did or make most cuts after IWT?

Also curious as to how deep the cuts go this round. Are they deeper after sisterhood?

every house cuts different numbers. there's no all-encompassing rule for cuts. for some houses, GPA cuts are over. for some houses, sisterhood to pref cuts will be extremely harsh. Overall there is no hard and fast rule to say which round is toughest, but going from 16 houses to 2 means you have to narrow it down somewhere. I know for my house we get extra diligent for sisterhood to pref cuts but I literally cannot speak for any other houses because we all recruit differently.
