What are everyone's favorite houses after visiting for philanthropy?

Almost every response to this post will be trolls, Alums, and girls trying to tear houses down or prop their own house up.

It happens every year. Very few actual PNMs are running to this site to post. They are all at school having a good time. This site isn't that important to them.

Loved A D pi’s and was very disappointed in Kappa. The girl I talked to was not the least bit interested in their philanthropy and mentioned they don’t do as many Greek activities as other houses.

What do you mean by Greek activities?

Like greek week and homecoming stuff, I would guess. Pretty lame recruitment right there

I really liked ADPi's, Chi O's, Phi Mu's, and especially KD's. I love working with kids but talking to an active in KD about their confidence platform almost made me cry.

I was disappointed with DZ, aopi & Kappa. I really liked Zeta & axo. Gphi also impressed me, didn't like them after IWT but loved them today!

I agree that is poor recruitment but as an active in another house, the only thing I’ve heard of them not doing is Derby Days, which others opted out of as well. (Some of the competitions were kind of objectifying and the attitude is more about winning and getting Sigma Chi’s attention than philanthropy. Can you tell my house didn’t participate either?)

Agreed that’s weird but kappa participates in homecoming, greek week, etc they just sat out of derby days this year. Which, like you said, has a lot more to do with winning and getting the attention of sigma chia (cough cough pi phi) than it is about the actual philanthropy. I did derby days freshman year and couldn’t even tell you what it was actually for because it was never talked ablit

You can't blame a troll for trying.

I think that the original girl meant more that kappa doesn’t put much emphasis on Greek-wide competitions or events, but also put less of an emphasis on their own philanthropy.

I have a lot of friends who are kappas and genuinely like their house, but they are much less interested in raising money for their own philanthropy/participating than other houses

Sounds like you got an uninvolved sister in their house who is part of their party crowd. That’s too bad. I know several Kappas from UADM and Al’s Pal’s. All the houses here donate books to their RIF charity and quite a few of them read to local schools. They don’t have a ton of events ( I know their Krispy Kreme run thing) but they do good for their philanthropy.

I liked Alpha gam, KD's and Phi Mu's best. They talked about their philanthropy but kept the party fun and unique. I'm into philanthropy but talking about it for 20 plus minutes is a bit much
