houses moving up

Honestly. I think all the “lower tier” are up for a major upgrade because:

Aphi cleaned house down to a solid and friendly core
Aoii and dz already have solid core and new houses and lots of energy because of that
Theta same as aoii and dd but just a little behind in their house. They also have the academic and involvement aspects in place
Gphi is building off their momentum from a best PC for them in years

Honestly things change so much in the lower tier these days you just gotta go where you want. When I rushed girls picked dz, theta, etc to get away from gphi because of their rep but now they’re doing much better. On the other hand just three or four years ago aopi was considered a lower middle house and now most people would say they’re bottom. You never know where your house is gonna be in a few years so you can’t worry too much about it.

As the person above said, houses can change, for better or for worse, within just a few years. That being said, it's important not to let ranks dictate your decision. Just because XYZ is where they are this year doesn't mean it's where they'll be 2 years from now.

Trending up:
DG, Gamma Phi, Theta
Each of these houses has seen significant improvement within the last 1-3 years. All of these houses were kind of all over the place a few years ago, but we see each kind of pulling it together and putting on good rushes and getting girls they would've never have gotten years ago.

I think AOPi and DZ have been slightly improving but I still see them somewhat scattered in terms of the overall image they portrait, they still have a tough time branding themselves as a "type."

All houses are great but here's my opinion:

Moving Up

DDD, ZTA, GPB, DZ

Moving Down

AGD, APhi, DG, AOPi

Honestly no houses move up here in terms of rating as advertised here. These houses are “brand names” with reputations that are deep rooted. Kind of like car brands.

You may debate if Mercedes or BMW is better.

Cadillac has a brand reputation too (with great cars) but no matter what they do most won’t ever put them in the German car league.

And a Chevy will always be a Chevy, even if the new Corvette is an engineering marvel.

Best advice, ignore the ranks and pick the House you like. \n\n\n\n\n

Houses I see moving up: Tri Delt, Zeta, DG, AOPi

Reasons - Tri delt and Zeta have gotten really strong pledge classes the last few years that move them up, probably the 2 best last year. DG moved up in grades and had a good recruitment video. AOPi has a new house and strong social media.

Guess we will find out this week what happens tho! Best of luck to all houses.

Honestly I'm glad to see a surprising amount of positivity on this thread. I was definitely expecting it to immediately turn into a debate of who's trolling and which house is so horrible. There's always many sides to a story and which houses are rising or falling is no exception.

APhi has faced a lot of scrutiny here with their membership review, but as a poster earlier here said, by clearing house it gives them a chance to start fresh. They kept only the girls their nationals thought were contributing positively, so hopefully that means they'll be on the upswing with grades, involvement, reputation, etc. Why wouldn't you want to be in a house full of only girls who really care?

AOII and DZ both have new houses which always results in a bump. It'll be so exciting to be a new member hanging out in their new house, making friends at every meal or getting ready for events together. And all the older girls will be hype to live in the new house too!

Theta of course is super involved, has great grades, and will soon be getting a new house. Another great chance to join a house full of girls who want to be there.

Other surprises: I think GPhi and KD are on the upswing. I remember a few years ago (before my time, when my sister was here) GPhi and Theta were consistently tied for "bottom" and now GPhi definitely seems to have successfully rebranded. The girls are cute and fun. KD had a great GPA last year, and seems to be balancing featuring typical in-state KD girls alongside far OOS girls on their social media, so I think they're trying to recruit more outside their normal hunting grounds. Hopefully that results in a great PC full of surprising picks.

Overall like another poster said, a house's ranking can change overnight, so it doesn't make sense to get too caught up in what we think their trajectory is now, because it could be totally different tomorrow. We all want all the houses to constantly improve because it makes the whole school and greek system look better, but it's best to just go with your gut.

I just don’t see DG trending up. Yes their grades have improved but I feel like they’ve started to really fall off the radar

Theta trending up. Impressed how they tightened rep for involvement and academic house while at the bottom of ranks and in spite of being only house not in machine. Wonder impact once house opens.

Honestly, all houses offer a great experience.
