Why did SK fly in actives from other schools for recruitment? Are they falling off?

Well, SK did fly actives in to help with IWT, but the second comment is confusing. OP is probably someone who doesn’t go here and doesn’t know they’re just colonizing but saw the insta story of the girls arriving.

If anyone’s actually curious about this, sororities usually bring in actives from other chapters to help with a colonization. In SK’s case it looks like they brought some girls in to help out with IWT and it’s likely they’ll get some girls from Auburn or UGA to help when they do their pref ceremony later on. Actives here are asked to do this a lot for new chapters of their sororities because we are great at rush.

No, you've got it wrong as well. SK hasn't even formed a colony here yet so there are currently zero SK members at Alabama. That's why SK reps have come in from elsewhere; to represent SK at IWT, but that is the only participation they will have because SK isn't taking members through formal recruitment. SK will start their process after formal is over. There will be no SK pref ceremony.

Actually no, I’m not wrong. When a sorority colonizes, depending on the sorority and the school, they will do interviews, maybe one or two invitational rounds, and then they will have a preference ceremony before distributing bids either at the ceremony or after at a separate bid day. Obviously this does not happen at the same time as formal recruitment. I personally have participated in a colonization preference ceremony as an active representing my chapter.
