pac-12 vs sec greek life??
by: heyoI know sec schools have more traditional and bigger Greek life, but I’m a senior from the PNW and am considering going to a pac-12 school and joining a sorority at a school here. But I also love the idea of a huge and traditional Greek experience in the south. Any tips?

As a PNW girl myself that came to Bama, if you love the tradition, come here! I have so many friends at Oregon, Washington, Boise State and small California universities that although they love their schools, when they hear about Bama, they’re super jealous of how massive it is down here and how fun the culture is. I love it and couldn’t imagine staying closer to home. Everything is on a bigger scale here, southern hospitality is real, and the football is on another level experience wise. (I say that as someone having gone to lots of PAC-12 games). I promise you won’t be the only one, and college is a great time to break away and do your own thing.. Going so far away has helped me grow in ways my friends closer to home may not have experienced, and I have a new appreciation for a different area of the country. Recruitment is intimidating but just keep your grades up, present yourself well, get your recs, and don’t listen to tent talk. Southern sororities have different values. So many of the “top chapters” where I’m from would not be received well here at Bama and sometimes vice verse. It’s not a bad thing, just different! I found a house I love and have made friends for life.
