You can control it but when u have it on high that thing cranks. When on high I had to be bundled up not benne freezing cold. Medium if deff the way to go

i always had mine on high, but i'm very hot natured so its up to you. if you put a bed in front of the AC vent it will block a lot of the air flow, which is what we did. thats probably why we always had it on high
