"perfect" rush?
by: txpnmHi! I am from Texas and am rushing. One of my friends moms who was in a sorority (not at Bama) and helped a lot of the girls in my grade out with getting recs and stuff was telling me that she knows of some girls who have had a perfect rush, aka didn't get cut from a single house and got their first choice from pref day...those girls went to A&M, Texas Tech and Arkansas. I've heard the recruitment process here is the most competitive in the country, just out of curiosity I'm wondering if y'all have heard of that happening at Alabama?

I'd imagine that Alabama is difficult, especially if you have your heart set on a specific house, but from everything I've heard and seen from my friends at both places, it doesn't hold a candle to UT Recruitment. Only because most of the girls only want the top 3 or 6, and there is no question what those are.
Here, girls want specific houses, but I think that what people consider top is a little more all over the place. Also, who wants what house really depends a lot more on where your from, which spreads it out a little bit. I'd imagine that perfect recruitment does happen here, but I bet not that often.

See, people on here say that, but in my group, we have a pretty decent mix of instate and out of state, and the instate girls seem to have specific houses based on where they live, and then they have backups that include old row mostly, but also new. KD and AGD have never been mentioned as lesser houses either, if that's what you're implying? Especially KD. They may not be every girl's favorite, but plenty of girls instate and out seem to want both.

No offense to kd or agd. I am BHM and some how over past few years kd and agd lost their following for many. Still fine houses.

I am from Texas and went through last year. I would say that I had a good rush in that I had a full card each day and the ones on my card each day were the ones I had ranked at the top. I have no idea if the other houses cut me because I was fortunate enough to get invited back to my favorites. I got my top pick but was pleasantly surprised to find I would have been happy in any of my top three. Just keep an open mind and enjoy the process!

I was pc 16 and there was a girl I was friends with in my rho chi who didn’t get cut from a single house (to her knowledge). she got back every house she wanted. Out of region but I think she knew some girls. Very cute and easy to talk to with good grades, definitely a total package pnm

It happens, but think it’s kind of rare. Wild guess based on what girls shared - maybe someone with more knowledge can correct:
I’d say maybe 10 percent get full cards with all of their top picks
50 percent full cards - some number of top picks dropped.
50 percent less than full cards.

I’m not sure but I would guess over half have less than full cards, maybe closer to 60-70%?

Most girls here (if from southern state) consider landing at any of the OR, except maybe KD or AGD for some, is a desired outcome
