has this ever happened to anyone here?

You think you’re going to go Old Row, so you keep ranking new row houses at the bottom of your list and they drop off. Then right before you get your card for pref, the Old Row houses you have left cut you, so you’re released from recruitment?

Are you better off to always keep at least one New Row house around? Or in this case could you get a snap bid somewhere?

I’m scared of this happening to me!

It’s rare, mostly because there are only 7 old row houses, and it’s unlikely that they would all keep you to sisterhood and then all drop you before pref. If you have all 7 on sisterhood you are likely a top pnm and the old row houses wouldn’t drop you. If you aren’t a top pnm, it’s really unlikely you’d have all 7 as your 7 sisterhood houses. You’re bound to have new row on your schedule.

I’d like to throw in (for anyone’s benefit) that girls who take all 7 old row houses to sisterhood are extremely rare— even the top PNMs are cut from houses. I’m not saying you’re being egotistical but make sure you’re not overconfident because you may find yourself with no old row invites anyways. Rule 1 of rush is to expect the unexpected

Just rank them based on how you feel based on the parties and the actives you talk to. You may find that there are some NR houses that you were more comfortable at than some OR houses, so don't get ahead of yourself with how you'll rank the houses or expect how they'll rank you.

The only person I know who had something close to that was a girl who only had DDD for pref. I honestly don’t know if it’s because she cut a lot of the NR houses early in the week and then was dropped by the other OR houses she assumed wanted her or if she had some kind of QR that was an issue for every house but DDD.
Other than that a LOT of girls have a mix of OR and NR on their pref schedule by choice. I highly doubt you will love every OR house and hate every NR house

Yes. I went in knowing popular names of houses. They happened to be OR, but I didn’t know that part. I wasn’t familiar with several NR houses and ranked them low. My card went from full second round, to two NR and two NR for sisterhood. At the end, I had pref with one OR and one NR. I didn’t think less of NR, but I wish I had played things smarter.

Unless you had a full card for philanthropy and then were cut to four for sisterhood, it’s likely that a lot of those houses cut you. Just because you rank houses low doesn’t mean you cut them, it’s just as likely that they cut you.

Sorry I just noticed you said your card was full second round. Still may apply though for other girls in similar situations.

If a house wants you - and ranked you high - you will find them on your card if you were cut by other houses that you ranked higher. Hard to explain, but it's kind of trickle down and the house choices drive.

Don't think there is a way to "game" it other than ranking Who you like.

If there is room on your card after your tops are "gone". Houses who want you will fill your card. If they didn't rank you high,
Your card is not full.

So if you are asking if you you should have been more interested in the houses and girls you talked to in all houses -absolutely.

But if you are asking if how you ranked houses matter - I'd say no.
