How do sororities decide on mascots? I’ve bwen researching this and all seem to be animals except a kite for Theta and a strawberry for Alpha Chi.

Sorority symbols were chosen literally centuries ago when they were just starting up. It's not a chapter by chapter basis. And Alpha Chi's is a lier. And ADPi's is a diamond.
