no hate, just want advice
by: legacyim a legacy to a "lower tier" new row house (my mom, she want to bama). Maybe 50 girls in that house are following me on insta too. I have a 4.0 and a 32 on ACT. Was a cheerleader too. I dont have anything bad to say about that house but I do want to go into rush with an open mind. I dont want to be in a house im a legacy for and end up hating it. Whats your best advice? Will they guaranteed be on my pref list?

We go really hard for our legacies especially bama legacies... you can definitely count on your legacy house keeping you especially if y’all click. However, if you say you’re a legacy to a NR house that’s ‘lower tier’ and you’re like cute normal blah blah whatever it won’t stop a better ‘ranked’ house from going for you because houses steal big legacies all the time. There was a lot of legacies in weird places last year. Also some of those houses might be against keeping you unless they know you’re actively trying to get rid of your legacy house ... a lot goes into it

Honest to god... tell your friends in houses that you don’t really plan on following in your mother’s footsteps... that’s a big thing that a lot of rec writers will put on a rec and it has big weight especially if the girls in house know it too.. they’ll say like “oh I know this girl she’s not gonna go her moms house” and stuff like that. Seriously, tell ur friends. If they don’t know they can’t bring it up

if it helps, i live in alabama and I have a lot of friends in other old row houses. I have a couple old row house girls following me too. I dont want to sound selfish or stuck up, but I feel like im in the middle of tug of war with a few houses. I just want to go where I like. not because of my mom or friends.
