how do cards work?
by: whatI've seen a lot of posts saying girls were trying to get certain houses off of their cards all week. so if you rank a house as last after the first day is there a chance they'll still be on your card? do the houses' rankings of you affect it?

So let’s say you ranked your sororities like this (shortened for this example)
1
2
3
4
5
And let’s say 1,2, and 3 are all chapters YOU liked and chapters 4 and 5 were ones you didn’t like as much.
If 1, 2, and 3 all want you back, then you’ll go back to those three and won’t ever see 4 and 5 again.
HOWEVER, in many cases, 1,2 and 3 won’t all want you back. So let’s say house 3 doesn’t want you to come back. Then, instead of seeing 1,2, and 3 the next round, you’ll see 1, 2, and 4. Now, if houses 1 and 3 don’t want you then you’ll go see 2, 4 and 5.
It is based on how the houses rank you primarily but it’s somewhat based on how you rank them.

Not sure how the OP can be down voted -'it's a fair question.
Recruitment is "competitive" and there are cuts after each round.
Many people say pnms have no control- which is true in that the process is driven by the houses' choices and it's the house ranking of the pnm that determines who shows up on "the card" for the next round.
The pnm does rank their favorite ton least favorite houses as well - and if all the favorites want the pnm then they do have some control over where they get invites back. But very few girls get invited back to exactly their top picks.
The card is your schedule for each round. After IWT is is limited by who wants you back. And, it may not be "full", meaning you may have fewer invites that the maximum for the round.
Some girls will find cards very close to their desires some girls deep cuts and few favorites made their list for the next round.
That's why these GR ranks are useless. After IWT it's about who you "have left" and finding a fit. Not about GR ranks.
Frankly, there is a quick divide where there are girls with PRIMARILY top houses and girls with mostly bottom houses by Sisterhood (7 max) and Pref (2 max). The max numbers changed this year. \n\n\n\n\n

so if 3 didn't want you back but neither did 4 or 5 then you would only have 1 and 2? so not a full card?
