diversity
by: confusedWhy is it that houses on here get bashed for having a group of diverse girls? Wouldn't it make a house better to have girls that are interested in different things, studying different things, or from different places? Why would I want to join a house where everyone is the same..

Honestly there are so many hypocritical aspects of sororities here... They should be smart but not too smart or else they're nerds, involved but not too involved that it takes away time you would spend at the house, skinny and pretty but also confident in who they are, progressive but not too much or else frats won't want to swap with them, etc etc etc.
The (few) houses at UA that are more diverse than others because they genuinely see diversity as a good thing and not as a PR thing are the houses that are thriving. Rush can bring out the bad side of Greek life, seeing that to have a "good" pledge class you have a certain "type" of girl from a specific area code or background and it honestly is stupid.

What GR page are you reading? I haven't seen one post bashing strats or frats for having diversity. There's one very pathetic troll who pretends to be houses on here claiming that they'd never take minorities, but no one believes it's a real person from our Greek orgs.
Never heard it happen in real life either, ever. I suppose that doesn't mean that it doesn't, but it's not a big thing.

^^^ there are a few houses that constantly get dragged for not having a specific type of girl and it's honestly annoying. houses that perpetuate the idea that they need to have a majority of "one type" to gain status are the houses that generally struggle with having genuine sisterhoods. whereas houses that tend to accept girls for who they are generally have stronger sisterhoods and connections... I'm not saying thats a fact but that's just what I've seen.
it's also annoying to always hear how certain houses get the "leftovers" when the reality of the situation it that it's pretty rare for a house to be forced to take a girl. the only time I've ever heard of a house being forced to take girls is when a legacy makes it to a certain round of rush in which point the house is obligated to offer her a bid. but otherwise, houses here don't have to take any girls they don't want. stop shaming houses for wanting to be inclusive and accepting. it's crazy how women will literally drag each other for being progressive but will then get on insta and talk about how "inspiring" their sisters are.

are you serious? there are always comments on this site about how "mixed pledge classes" are bad and how certain houses deserve to be ranked lower because they don't attract "one type" of girl ???
