oos vs is
by: UmHello UA! I’m not actually a student at Alabama, but l was in Greek life at a different school up in the Midwest. We used Greek Rank at my university a lot, so sometimes when I’m bored I’ll check out what other greeks are going through. One thing I’ve noticed about UA is that there is a preference of in-state vs out-of-state students during rush for sororities. First off, l had no idea this was even a thing, since at my University that was not a huge judgement call in terms of giving someone a bid. Where they were from didn’t matter, but it was about personality and their interests and how involved they were. My question is - Do you all not worry about this getting out to the news? With “discrimination” being a popular topic nowadays, I feel someone on a slow news day could really spin this to look bad on Alabama. Just asking here hoping to gain some insight on why this is a thing. Thank you!
