unpopular opinion: sorority addition

Gpa is weighted wayyy too heavily in rankings here and whenever someone wants a more social house they're put down pretty harshly. I honestly don't think gpa ranks matter as much as some people say they do. Don't get me wrong, having good grades is definitely important on a personal level, but I don't think it needs to be the main focus of Greek life. Sororities and fraternities are social clubs, not honors societies. Certain house tend to attract more academically motivated girls than others, which accounts for gpa rank, but for most people, your grades are going to be what they're going to be, regardless of your house. Again, academics are important to me, but being in a house with a strong social presence, leadership opportunities, or even strong philanthropic efforts gives girls an experience they can't get from a "grades" house. Also not saying all houses top in grades are bad, but the best houses overall are only there because they also have at least some of the things I mentioned to go along with great grades

Ranks shouldnât matter. Everyone doesnât want to be in the âtopâ houses because not everyone fits in there. Even if you donât want to admit it, you probably ended up where you fit in best. Not everyone can be in a âtopâ house because there are just so many spots too. Stop dragging people down for being in what you consider a âlower tierâ just to make yourself feel better.
