cant we agree

by: Guest

cant we all agree that there is no "bad" houses here. Id say rushing a "bottom tier" house is just as hard as rushing a middle tier house at a school with a smaller greek community. Most of the weirdos are dropped by philanthropy round. yeah some girls slip through the cracks (HB) but that shouldn't jeopardize the entire sorority rep. (No im not an alpha phi lol)

I mean technically, speaking straight from the numbers, it’s pretty easy to get a bid here, especially to a less popular house. We have a 92% bid rate and most of the 8% drop on their own. If I remember correctly the national average is like 80%. Now, yes, some of our bottom girls could go middle tier at other schools, but that doesn’t mean it’s harder to get a bid to a bottom house here.

I do agree that all our houses are good! (although some have more going for them than others in terms of grades, involvement, how many sisters actually pay dues, etc.)

i think they are making getting a bid harder this year, considering you can only have 2 houses on pref, and they seem to be more harsh on grades this year. maybe to make girls pledge sigma kappa...

Having less pref parties doesn’t change how many girls get a bid but it definitely seems like they are cracking down on grades. Honestly it’s about time. Not everyone deserves a bid and that’s become very clear this semester

I don’t think sigma kappa will take many grade risks though, that seems like a bad idea. Usually colonies take girls who didn’t consider rushing before, and girls who wait because they are legacies.
