to whom it matters and not
by: Sane
I was asked to check out this site by a friend who knows I go to Bama. Ya'll are about half nuts....lol
I guess some pnms come on here to check things out, so l'll offer this advice.
There are people for whom these ranks and their placement really matter. If you can honestly would say or think something like "My parents would be really upset if I didn't get in house X or Y and be mortified to tell their friends if I was in house A or B" or "I'd really feel rejected if Imdid t get in the house where I know a ton of girls", then "IT MATTERS"
And you don't need to be on GR to know where you want/need to be. However, it seems some come on here to promote their brand and shade others to attract these girls. Most girls in the "it matters" class have two or three houses that will work.
If this is NOT you - trust me it doesn't matter.
I know and love the girls in the "it matters" class. But I left the ones I know best in my far OOS home state school(s, and chose to come to Bama.
Now I'm not one of those people to tell a "it doesn't matter" class girl to avoid the OR/top houses (some seem to say that on GR), but I am going to say they aren't going to give us it doesn't matter girls a "better" experience just because they are ranked high.
Nor are they going to turn you into an in-state or regionally "connected" girl because you garnered membership. You are going to leave with the parents, the upbringing, the wealth, the status, the talents and brains and skills you arrived with, no matter what house you find yourself in. Yes, your sorority experience will influence and effect your life, but it's not going to fundamentally change who you are and how you were raised.
If you are in the "it matters" class, good luck. Hope you manage the expectations and pressures well, rush perfectly, and find yourself where you always wanted on bid day.
If you are in the "it doesn't" class, find your fit. That's all that matters (to you)!\n\n\n\n\n

I know I'll get attacked for this but I do get kinda tired of hearing "all the houses are the same" and "you get the same experience" but you don't. For example, zta, aphi, kd, kappa, tri delt, phi mu, alpha chi, xo, and agd swap with the best fraternities, get invited to the biggest date parties and overall have the best greek life experience. And guess what! A lot of girls in those houses are also very smart and involved. The lower tier sororities either rarely have swaps, or rent off campus venues to swap with off campus fraternities. I honestly don't think it's worth almost 8k a year to not have the most fulfilling experience. But maybe it's just me lol

Saying this is it relevancy and only 'these' houses have fun posts are what's annoying.
There are girls in the houses not mentioned, who go out, have a great social life, go to New Orleans for formals, etc. and who are great wonderful girls in a great sister hood
And they hang with decent, attractive, normal guys and girls.
I realize, the in-state girls, don't find these people relevant because they're not from their home towns, but plenty of girls do, And no lesser or inferior to their counterparts in local/regional based houses

Who do PiPhi, GPhi, Alpha Delta Pi, swap with? If I am invited to big date parties can I go if I join one of these?
