Don’t let anyone tell you you wouldn’t be a good fit somewhere. Even if there’s truth to what they’re saying, you don’t know their reasoning. Other PNMs get competitive, not all Rho Chis follow the rules (so watch what you say about houses too), and actives definitely don’t have clean intentions if they’re bashing another house. Panhellenic does NOT tolerate this during recruitment, so if the girl rushing you says you wouldn’t shine at XYZ House for example, REPORT them. Last year too many girls were told in certain NR houses they’d “never find a home in OR” /wouldn’t get any leadership position/they’d be a filler etc. I’m sure it happens in OR houses too with ones that cross rush.

You should want to be in a house because you love it the best, feel the most at home, compared to the others. NOT because you were scared off from another. Also, any girls “bid promising” may not have as much say as they think. Maybe they just don’t want you to go a certain house and don’t care if you pick theirs. Maybe they actually love you but there are a ton of loved PNMs coming through so it’s not a done deal. Just be careful during rush, decide for yourself which house fits you, and don’t listen to rumors, especially anything about hazing.
