how hard is it going to be for sophomores that are rushing this year? I've heard of a lot of sophomores that are rushing this year (i think a good amount more than normal) and i just wonder how it will be, especially with the decrease to only preffing 2 sororities?

It will be no harder than any other year. Sophs will have their own quota as usual, and going to two prefs doesn't make it any harder to get a bid.
