To me, kappa kind of turns off girls who aren’t super wild.. I know lots of girls from my hometown who didn’t consider kappa bc they didn’t want that kind of rep. I would remove them

In that case take off Phi Mu too, they turn a lot of girls off because they seem very overly-polished and stiff and girls have heard they have a rep for being stuck up.

Kappa has one of if not the highest retention rates during rush. Definitely fits the criteria

I agree and I remember chi o, agd, and kd all were rude and acted uninterested in me during rush. I'm far OOS and had 0 connections.

I'm from far out of state loved those houses and ended up getting a bid... it might be a hard pill to swallow but maybe it's not the houses maybe it was you

Another far OOS girl here currently in an OR house. While I can see how maybe if you talk to exclusively in state girls that are also narrow in their view of possible PNMs that might happen, remember that a) not all in state girls are like that and b) there are OOS girls in every OR house and if they don’t know anyone coming through they may be on the lookout for cute, fun unknown girls. I had a slight connection to one OR house (never met the girl but our families were kind of friends), but I doubt she was planning on trying to advocate for a bid for me prior to rush. She picked me up during IWTs and we hit it off really quick. She had her friends talk to me other rounds, she helped pref me, and she, along w her friends somewhat, are the reason in I’m that house. One of her friends is my big actually! They were excited to see another girl from that part of the country like them and paid attention. This girl also told me that she would look for girls from her area come through and make an effort to pick them up and get to know them because our house said they don’t want just a pc full of in state girls, as awesome as they might be. So, it’s sad you felt so unimportant at those houses, I did too at one of the ones you named, but PNMs PLEASE remember there are girls from all over in every house, and just because you don’t have a connection, there may be girls who meet you and love you or look for you and you could still get a bid. Don’t let NR houses tell you you’ll never fit (as two told me during rush), because I couldn’t imagine being anywhere but my house!

If you were a current active posting here you would KNOW we are switching to only two houses for pref. Get with the times, babe, if you’re gonna troll.

Honestly I would not be surprised if the majority of my house didn’t know were switching to 2 prefs 🤦🏼‍♀️

Where exactly did you get these return rates from?

She actually said someone from Alabama wasn’t posting due to not knowing there were three houses. I was the one who called bs on pnm’s not admitting that if they got any combination of TWO of those houses that they would be pleased. This year. Current. It doesn’t matter if you loved another house during the week more; you would be pleased with those choices based solely on their long standing reputation. I am quite aware of the differences during the past three years because I am a rising senior, I am still very involved in our recruitment team, and I know many members on other houses recruitment teams.
