A lot of OSS women pledge sororities at Bama. Don't take my word for it, though. Bama's Office of Greek Affairs openly publishes the sorority pledge list every year -- go look online at its 2012 list and you will see plenty of OSS people on it, including ones from above the Mason Dixon line and even from way up in New York. Don't believe the horror stories about these big southern recruitments and how only in-state girls from certain areas have a prayer of getting any house. Not true.
Like everyone in Bama's rush, you need to be open minded to all houses. You need a strong GPA, good activities and recommendations. You can learn more about them at the Panhellenic website under Recruitment. Have a good rush!
