getting dropped

by: PNM

Hey I’m going to be a freshman in the fall. I’m rushing but i’m OOS. What are my chances of being dropped by all the sororities? I’m really nervous i’m not going to get a bid and i don’t know if i want to rush if my chances are high

Chances of being dropped by all are very low. 93% get a bid and many of the 7% girls drop out themselves because they decide it's not for them. Being OOS is not a problem.

If you have good grades, can carry a conversation, can look appropriate, and can get in recs, you should do just fine. You will get at least one choice at the end. All the houses here have great girls in them doing great things. Good luck! We cannot wait to meet you!

Practice conversations! Get some friends/adults to ask you likely questions and practice. It may seem ridiculous, but the houses practice as well!

Honestly, we might not remember you specifically for your great conversation skills, but if your super awkward you can be sure people will remember!

^Helpful advice, follow it! Conversations... definitely will be remembered if they’re awkward, good probably not, amazing, probably yes. We talk to more girls a day than you do most likely during rush, so it’s harder to remember. However, my best friend met her little during sisterhood round and pushed hard for this girl because they really just clicked THAT much. This doesn’t happen that often but it’s possible! Especially during later rounds when you have more time to talk

Being dropped by every house is very rare, if you have decent grades, recs, look put together and carry a conversation you will be fine. Make sure to keep an open mind about all of the chapters and you should end up somewhere in the end.
