What do yall think the sigma kappa first pledge class is going to be like? Do you think they will pull the smarter girls or the more social girls?

not to be negative at all, but I have a feeling they'll kinda pull girls from the bottom of the barrel, unless they do a super good job recruiting. a lot of girls rush for the sisterhood and i would think it would be difficult to entice a potential PC without having any sisterhood or frat connections.

I’m sorry but what does sisterhood have to do with “frat connections”

Sisterhood has nothing to do with frat connections,as you well know. But let's admit that a majority of PNMs want to meet cute frat guys. There is nothing wrong with wanting both. Why pretend otherwise? It is insincere to say it isn't a factor.I wish SK all the luck in the world!

Usually when a colony comes to a campus, one of two things can happen: they either get the leftover girls or they get girls who dropped out of formal recruitment to pursue them rather than definitively bottom chapters in hopes that "new' is better than "bottom". Of course there will be, like all houses, pretty girls, smart girls, classy girls, in-state girls, OOS girls, etc. But with a school as tradition-driven as Alabama, it'll be up to the existing chapters who usually are labeled "bottom" to show the PNMs why they are the better option than an unknown. Forging your own path vs. decades of traditions. But honestly, we should be SUPPORTING SK'S arrival to campus since it means that the PCs will be smaller and we'll all get a better sisterhood.

They'll get a mix of all kinds of girls. Some very smart ones and some not so smart...although SK will be making sure their GPA stays up. They'll get some in-demand OOS and instate girls, and some not so in demand. They get a few legacies, especially ones who's moms were at Auburn, and a lot who aren't legacies to any group.
Just like every other sorority.
They WILL tend to get girls who don't want the typical sorority experience, or who are more independent than the norm.
A new colony tends to make a lot of demands on its members, and the strong survive. So the mix of local/regional/national alumnae who choose the members will be looking for strong women who are willing to carve out a place for themselves.
