uadm: let's talk hours
by: Dance Dance
Greeks: It's being brought up that during UADM, the Greek population showed up at the beginning but left immediately when service hours were granted (around 2pm). This came across as rude to the children who DM works so hard to fundraise for.
So I got to ask: What's a solution? Would an equation to determine the hours granted work? Would you be willing to swipe in and swipe out to track how long you were actually there for?
E.g. An individual who shows up at 10am and stays for less than six hours gets a quarter of an hour for each hour they were there. (5 gets you 1.25) An individual who stays for over six gets a half an hour per hour attended (7 gets you 3.5). And an individual who stays for 12 gets the full time.
Do bear in mind that UADM has historically not given hours for participating. It's not really serving the community in the same way Habitat for Humanity does.
So, in order to keep this perk of hours for UADM, let's figure out something that makes y'all want to attend and incentives y'all to stay as long as possible.

Nah, you won't find a solution here, but you'll find blunt input. It's not a terrible idea to get some anonymous reflection on the fact we Greeks seem to be motivated by hours alone and not the cause we're there for. OP isn't with UADM, they're definitely nursing their hangovers rn.
