sororities

im from hawaii, looking to go to alabama this fall, really unfamiliar with sorority stuff but definitely want to rush! i know a few girls in zeta, alpha phi and phi mu, but what are tiers and how are they determined? do i have good chances being from hawaii (pacific islander looking), nice, athletic, outgoing, 3.9 gpa on 4.0 scale, stylish? i saw some posts saying some sororities like certain southern girls/looks/grades, etc. any info would be awesome! thanks!!

tiers are determined by their looks, grades, sororities social status, etc... basically anything. But if going to a southern school, rush can be intimidating. But I wouldn't worry about it, whatever house you fit in and feel most yourself in is the house that is for you

Tiers are determined but old ladies who can't let go of their sorority days. Tiers only matter on this site and for a few Alabama girls during Recruitment. Beyond that, no one cares.

Don't get caught up in the Tier talk here, and you'll be fine. Over 90% of girls find a home during recruitment, and a LOT of those who don't are people who drop for various reasons.

If you aren't obsessed with this site thinking that your #1, you'll be fine! Why the hell you're leaving Hawaii for Alabama will probably be the #1 question you get asked, so have a good answer prepared.

honestly, If we see your rec letter, we'll think you're cool because you're from Hawaii. So, good chances as long as you can get along with girls in the house.
