In my house it's a mixture of who actually wants to do it (usually more sophomores than upperclassmen) and who the recruitment heads want to do it (people who are coordinated, loud, patient enough to practice it 500000 billion times, etc.) But even if a girl was super pretty or well-known or representative of our house, if she didn't want to be in the door song, she wouldn't be in it.

In our house it is usually the rising sophs that were very active in recruitment in the spring and are generally the broad recruitment team. if any rising juniors, they are bump leaders.

It really depends on the house. I’d say they put girls that really standout as their “type” in the door song. So Alpha Phi, Zeta, and Phi Mu will have the prettiest girls, whereas Kappa and KD will have well-known Mobile and MB girls. Alpha Chi has three doors full of door stacks so I’m not sure how they do theirs. My house rewards girls who are really involved with being in the door stack.
