warning to pnms

The only houses I would caution OOS girls to join is Kappa and KD. I’m not saying they aren’t a great , top house but 99% of the time girls from the same areas pledge here and become instant best friends. There is a strong chance that you will constantly feel left out or like you don’t belong. Girls who have know eachother since birth obviously will be exclusive
This isn’t meant to be harmful just take it as a warning before rush. If you love them and could see yourself there then awesome! But if you just like the name and not the girls ... then you will be a miserable filler girl

I’m in one of those houses, far OOS. I met my best friend in the house on bid day. I met my close group of friends during my first week. I expanded my friend circle, both in-state and OOS, throughout my first year and during recruitment workshops, with older girls and my PC. I have made new friends with the new girls. My experience has been nothing but positive and supportive. I am very involved in my house and am sought after to join groups and committees because I am a reliable sister. I know my worth and my house doesn’t need to take “fillers”. We recruit “sisters”.

is so dumb and so wrong, stop with this stupid narrative. kappa more so than kd has sooo many oos girls especially with their last pledge class. this IS the state of alabama you know so there are going to be alabama girls in sororitys lol. kd and kappa are popular in alabama because they have a history of being top houses and legacies, etc. which isn't a bad thing? if you're that concerned you can easily do some research and check instagram and see all the happy oos girls + sisters.

I wouldn't say an OOS or far OOS CANT find a home in KD, Kappa, Phi Mu, AGD, AXO or DDD.
But given all the ranks that put these houses typically "at the top", the OOS looking for guidance should understand the reasons these houses are highly ranked may not be that important to them: familiar and known girls from your HS or church and predominantly girls from the "correct" Alabama zip codes and shared traditions and history among similar people back home. \n\n\n\n\n

I agree that the OP is far more true to KD than Kappa but still it applies. Just join the sorority for the right reasons ladies and know that in these houses it is going to be a lot of girls who already know eachother
I know KDs who signed their lease for the next year on bid day so they could live on KD corner
