by: D

it's all about visibility. When you're a PNM, especially if you're oos or don't know lots of actives, having a public profile allows actives to see what you look like and what you're about. what sort of activities you went to in high school, whether you post anything inappropriate, that sort of stuff. It works the other way, too. If sororities have girls with cute instagrams that PNMs stumble across (as you have), then it piques the interest of PNMs who may want to know more about greek life.

If you have social media, just keep it clean and fun. Nothing wrong with going on vacation, hanging out with your friends, celebrating a championship win, etc, but it's pretty bad to see a 17 year old partying on social media, because they'd be a standard's/reputation risk.

Agreed, although it's a little weird when you think about it, because once you get in, it's pretty much exactly what they expect you to do!

I don’t think it’s a bad thing to look like you party as long as you do post about I️t in a class way. So that means no solo cups, beer cans, bar in the background, etc. I think a picture though that you look cute and shows you having fun with friends, even if it is at a party is fine. They just want to know you’re not going to cause problems for them by posting drunk pictures all the time

I don’t see how it is a bad thing for this person to ask why pages are public. I think it is reasonable and girls probably keep their profiles public to gain more following for their sorority. It is your decision if you want your to be public. If you are deciding where to go or transfer I don’t know how old you are, it is not a problem to ask different college pages on here.
