does oos have any chance at axo or xo?

by: help

I'm northern OOS, and I deeply want to be in either of these houses. I really admire their qualities and philanthropy work, and I just think that I would be so happy and reach my full potential there. I have a great transcript and resume, but I just don't know if these houses are even slightly achievable without in-house connections and being OOS. Of course I'm open to other houses and trusting the recruitment process, but if there any hope of being in axo, xo, or even agd?

Far out of state without connections, even with all recommendations, I don't think you should plan on those houses. I know plenty of attractive, 3.9-4.0+++ gpa, wonderful transcripts, all recs., friendly girls who were not given a chance and were cut in the first two rounds from both of those house. On the other side, looking at where many of these girls landed, I was shocked, bottom houses according to here. I got through in my house as a multiple legacy but would have been in theta or dz without. While girls will come here and say that there are plenty of OOS girls in their houses, they are mostly southern, legacies, or outliers in some way.

don't believe the hype about certain houses. Im far oos went into rush with no connections, no recs, and a low gpa. Ended up completely fine had almost a full schedule the whole time. If your pretty, involved, and can carry a conversation you shouldn't have a problem

I know an AXO (pc 17) from Cincinnati, Ohio... So maybe you can. Good luck!

It’s such a shot in the dark. I know of super involved, 4.0+, cute, outgoing girls with revs dropped from both of the houses, and I know of one XO from CA with decent grades, 1 rec letter. AXO was weird this year though. Lots of OOS and not even as good of grades. I know of 2 girls from Oregon and 2 from Washington state that pledged AXO, and at least one of them only had like a 3.4. Don’t count on those houses, but it’s not completely impossible.

If you've got multiple recs to both, close to a 4.0, clean reputation, super involved in high school (homecoming court, prom queen, cheerleader, SGA, soccer, etc) then you've got a better chance than a lot of in-state girls without those qualifications. Go in with an open mind and see where the cards fall for you. I promise you'll end up in the best house for you. Good luck!

Dear OP, I get that you want the top house. Yet, You will have a far greater chance to reach your greatest potential if you are a big fish in a small pond.

If you have a high GPA, look hot/pretty, and went to private school and are generally wealthy and well traveled, you can get a bid from anywhere. You don't need to be nice, involved in SGA, team captain, whatever. The harsh truth is if you have the looks and money to have a "perfect" Instagram life while being able to maintain high GPA, then you're in. It's all about image here.

True as long as OOS is not NJ, NY, or PA. Plenty of 4.0 beautiful rich girls who vacation in the islands or Europe are never going to be in the top houses, or or nr without a strong in house connection. If from the west coast, Texas, or Northwest you will be fine with looks and money alone.

It doesn’t matter what state you are from. It matters how you present yourself. YOUR idea of brainstorming not be what these houses see as beautiful. They like a lot less makeup and conservative dress. In general, girls from these areas, no matter how much money they have, can come across as rude and unpolished during recruitment.
