need help! honest advice please.

My friend had to drop her sorority before initiation because her parents decided they would not pay for it, and they wanted her to focus on only her studies for freshman year. They said if she gets a job during the school year and summer, she can rush again the next fall and pay for it herself.
But how likely is it that she will get another bid? Will sororities just cut her automatically because she is a sophomore? Especially after she accepted a bid? She loved the one she was in, and we all miss her already :( Any advice or experience would help!

This was her chance at UA. Sorority life here is expensive. She already went through formal recruitment, she already accepted a bid and withdrew, she will be a sophomore next year, and she has budget issues. All of these reasons combined mean she will most likely get cut. I would suggest her getting involved in other campus groups.

My opinion is that she should get to know a lot of girls from different houses and keep her friendships with the girls in the house she dropped. She should explain to all that she had to drop out because of parental finances but will be back next year. I doubt she'll be penalized for her parent's woes.

Pssshhh Ill informed people.. look I know multiple girls who dropped and reeushed. Here are the following houses they went: ADP, KD, Alpha Phi, and DG. Rushing as a sophomore is more competitive than a freshman. If you have good grades, are pretty, and have good conversation skills you will do fine. I just wouldn't mention you dropped because of financial issues.

So what's the best excuse to use for why you depledged if you don't want to scare them wth the financial reasons? Because my roommate went through the same thing, but she knows her finances will be under control for next year. So how does she reassure them that she is not a risk?
