huge pledge classes
by: ???How does anyone manage a pledge class so huge?? i just saw thetas instagram post and they have almost 200 girls. How does it become a real sisterhood or not become super cliquey? Is it even possible to handle issues within a sisterhood this huge? Is this a problem with most sorority’s here? i’ve just never seen a pledge class so huge before.

Every house has girls drop throughout the time period from Bid Day to Initiation. So Theta probably saw a decent amount of girls drop, as most New Row houses do, and so their '17 PC is definitely not the same size as it was on Bid Day.
And in general, every house here is big, not just Theta. It definitely is hard to get to know all your sisters just in your own PC let alone the others. And this is an issue with our Panhellenic system here. Are they really willing to sacrifice true sisterhood for money? Which is also why you see a big pushback from Greek life right now... A lot of people don't want a new sorority. They want a lower Bid Match rate, they want to be able to be more selective...

Honestly, another house AND lower bid match rates and pledge class sizes ( like, under 100), would help so much. It's so stupid when our girls go to a swap and there are only 25-40 fraternity pledges for 140 sorority pledges. The frats might like the favorable ratio, but it's ridiculous.
