Get straight A's and become best friends with the houses you actually want to join, otherwise enjoy your life as a GDI?
Re-rushing can work, but it's much harder than what you just went through. Some houses will drop you again if they dropped you this time.
That said, if you really dislike your house and can't find friends with 400 girls, why pay for it? You don't have to be Greek.

First reevaluate why you "don't like" your house. Like why? If your reasons regard status and ranks then you're shallow. If your reasons regard not feeling like you fit in then try harder. Everything happens for a reason and believe it or not but the house you're in is where you're meant to be in some way. I know it can be hard to enjoy your sorority experience when you get a house you didn't like during rush but honestly only time can change that. It's only been like three weeks since Bid Day. Stick it out until initiation and if you still really feel like you don't like your house then drop. But be warned, re rushing can be difficult. Lots of houses won't give a second chance if you re rush because if they dropped you once they'll do it again. And if you make a name for yourself this upcoming school year then that'll carry with you as well.

I honestly felt the same way! You should really stick it out until initiation and make sure you don't actually like your house, but if you don't, for sure drop. You shouldn't pay thousands and thousands of dollars for a house that you don't love. Yes, rerushing as a sophomore is super risky and there is always a chance of not getting a house, but if you come back sophomore year with a great rep and kill it, then I think you'll be fine. Just look at the risk and ask yourself if you're ok with no greek life your freshman year. You absolutely dont need to feel obligated to stay in a house that you don't like.

Every house had about 400 members and every house offers similar social experiences. They all have awesome women, they all have some that are not so awesome. The all have swaps, formals, etc. Do you really think the dynamic across 400 members per house is going to be that different? Most likely not. Consider the following: You could try to move on to another group within the house. Make an effort to meet new people at upcoming functions and then reassess in a few more weeks. Or, you might consider that Greek life is just not for you, cause you will most likely have the same experience in another house.

You will make friends as you begin to be involved in all the activities during the year. If you drop now, you're making the decision to not be greek because you won't go through recruitment and get a "better" house ever. (Regardless of the urban legends you hear.) So get out there and exert some effort to make friends. I don't know anyone as upperclasswomen who don't like their houses.
