sorority recs?
by: ...Can someone explain how recs work to me? I'm OOS. Do they have to be from Bama alums or any school? Also, does it help if it is someone who recently graduated? Thank you!!

Recs are very important and not as hard to get as you think. Most people are happy to right them for you if you make it easy for them by directing them and giving them every thing they'll need to do so. All sororities accept alumnae recs but only few will take current collegiate members from other chapters across the country. On Alabama's Panhellenic site you can easily find out this information. It does help if they were actually alumnae from a chapter at Alabama. It's not make or break but it will help so if you're able to then great and if not that's okay, just get your recs!!

Recs do not have to be from Bama alumnae. The strongest recs will come from women who've known you the longest and the best- ie, your godmother, your bff's mom, your aunts and older cousins, a close elementary school teacher, etc. Start making your list now!!
It is helpful if they are still involved in their sorority's alumnae group vs some random ABC who hasn't done anything with her group since college.
