- the biggest similarity between fall cob and spring rush is that only a select few houses participate. fall cob is for houses that did not meet quota and/or for houses that met quota but a large amount of girls dropped to the point where said house fell below quota. while spring rush is for houses that feel they had a large amount of girls drop throughout the year and/or had a large amount of girls graduate early in december. either way, participating in fall cob or spring rush does not necessarily always reflect poorly on a house... a lot of people like to say that certain houses are better because they don't do fall cob/spring rush but the reality is that houses that do participate in fall cob/spring rush realize there's opportunity to expand their sisterhood and ultimately do whats best for their house.

- fall cob is only open to girls who went through formal rush of that year. so this is open to girls who dropped throughout the week of rush or dropped soon after accepting their bid.

- spring rush is open to all girls as well as girls who went through formal rush but dropped before accepting a bid.

- if you're interested in either you need to contact panhellenic directly. and if you're interested in cob you need to do so asap.

If you went through formal recruitment and went to pref round and signed your MRABA ( doesn't matter if you suicided and didn't match because of that) you cannot COB for one year. Otherwise, you need to go to the Panhellenic website and fill out the COB form and this will allow sororities know that you are available for the COB process. This includes girls who didn't go through formal recruitment but are interested in sororities and girls who were dropped from formal recruitment. Good luck.

Wrong. Anyone can sign up for fall COB as long as they did not sign a Pref card and receive a bid. If you declined a bid or dropped from the house that gave you a bid, you are ineligible for any rush activities until Fall 2018 formal. If you withdrew prior to signing a Pref card or were released from rush earlier in the week OR did not go through rush at all, you are eligible to sign up for fall COB.

Also, fall COB is not for chapters who did not make quota. It's for any chapter that is below Panhellenic Total should they choose to participate. Same criteria as spring COB.

To OP- the difference between fall COB and spring COB is that more chapters tend to participate and have more openings in spring than fall because every chapter is impacted by seniors who graduate in December or girls who transfer or drop out. The big difference between formal and COB is that COB is 100% by invitation only. There is no COB equivalent to IWT's where every pnm visits every chapter. Chapters will only contact you for COB if they're interested in you.

Every chapter handles COB differently. Some chapters who just have 1-3 openings will directly offer bids to close friends of actives. Chapters who have 5-10 or more openings might have a series of informal, but invitation-only, parties where actives can get to know the pnms.

Sign up with Panhellenic office each semester if you would like for chapters to know you're interested in COB. Just know that you might sign up and never hear from any chapters.
