my roommate has lost it
by: Help
So, I think my roommate might be losing it. She came in to Rush gunning for certain houses, and when she was dropped after Philanthropy by all of them, she quit Recruitment. She apparently had a not-so-awesome GPA, so I don't know if that might be why she got dropped since I thought grade drops happened after IWTs. Oddly, she was positively chipper about the whole thing, because she was 100% positive that she'd get a COB or Snap bid from one of those houses, but so far that hasn't happened. She does seem to know a lot of people in those houses from high school, but it didn't seem to help keep her on their schedule.
Wouldn't COB/Snap Bids be over by now, if it was happening in the houses she wanted? Can she even get either if she dropped out of Recruitment with options? Is she going to boil my bunny or something awful because I got into the house I wanted? I'm kidding about that last part, but thank goodness it wasn't one of the ones SHE wanted, or I might actually be worried.

Hopefully she can focus on building relationships within the greek community and then do COB when it opens, either later in the fall or in the spring. In the meantime, she should keep her nose clean and make sure any reputational concerns are addressed through how she behaves now in ttown. Also, she can work on getting a good set of grades first term and that could help her on the academic side. If she ends up not doing COB, she can always rush again next fall formal recruitment but enter with a new set of credentials and as a known person that could catch on with a house under the upperclassman quota.
