While part of the issue here is that probably hundreds of girls from the Birmingham area go through recruitment every year while you may only have 50 for so coming from a place like the Bay Area or Nashville. Of course there are top PNMs from these places but there's relatively less of them so trends are harder to distinguish. For example, when I rushed, nearly HALF of the girls from my in-state city went either KD or Kappa - that is a very distinct trend and easy to notice. It's harder to figure out where, say, top OOS PNMs from South Florida are going, because maybe there's only 5 or 6 of those girls to begin with.

Just food for thought.

In any case, generally speaking, I think DDD, ZTA, and PBP got the most "top" PNMs from out of state this year. ZTA especially for Florida and PBP for Texas... I wonder if maybe that's the PKT name working for them. People are also saying DG had a bad year but they got a couple REALLY good girls from the west coast that I was gunning for my (new row) house to fight for.

Since when are people from the tacky Florida panhandle most sought after over people from Charolette, Raleigh, Charleston, parts of VA

For starters, the top girls from those areas are much more likely to go to UVA/UNC/Duke/Clemson than they are to Alabama. If they do decide to go further away for college it's more likely to a place like Vanderbilt, Tulane, or SMU.

I agree, but I do think it's something we'll see more of as UA becomes more and more popular with FL and TX girls seeking to avoid the crowds at UF/FSU and UT/A&M respectively.

Plus, ZTA and PBP are both apparently rising in the rankings while more traditionally southern houses like KD and AGD continue to decline, which makes me wonder if in 10 years we might be like every other school on the coasts where tiers are based solely on attractiveness/partying. That would def benefit the Florida vibe.

Many posts were not bashing them but expressing that to base an entire(150-200) pledge class on a few areas is ridiculous. Which it is. You want to talk about the girls from those areas go for it but don't base the worth of an entire pledge class on it. Just FYI the top pnm post on here had a lot of girls on it that were not from Alabama! You have barely seen any of them out and about. You have no idea how grades, involvement, sisterhood, and social life will be for the new pcs. Stop being so defensive. You go to a school with more than 50% oos, if you don't like that oos influence maybe your the one who shouldn't go to school here.
