adpi

by: Question

Seriously no hate no shade, just curious why ADPi is so high in all the recent rankings?? I liked them fine during recruitment, but they didnt seem significantly better than AOPi, DG, GPB or even Theta. So why are they so much higher than those four in rankings? What puts them on par with, say, pi phi? Is it just that they have been on campus longer? Or are they more involved? What is it?

Well, you're right, recruitment is ADPi's weak point and it's pretty obvious - this year was an especially poor year for them although not a disaster.

However, yes, ADPi has higher grades and lots of involvement. They're also pretty social and have a nice new house which puts them easily above AOPi and KAT, plus DG has only been on campus for a few years and like I said GPB's grades are pretty rough. They're a solid house in pretty much every measurement, just not great at any one thing.

To me at least, academics, involvement, and sisterhood play a major role in rankings. I obviously know rankings aren't definitive but when I do rank, those three aspects are the ones I look to most.

That being said, you can also argue why half the houses are ranked where they are. Why is ZTA on par with PBP if ZTA has the second lowest GPA, low involvement, and a poor sisterhood? Why is DG and Theta ranked so low when they're both super involved and have good sisterhoods and Theta has good grades? Why is KD and KKG ranked so high when they have average grades, poor sisterhoods, and low involvement?

Rankings don't make any sense because no one ranks all houses on the same scale. But to answer your question, ADPi is probably ranked higher because of their grades as well as their involvement.

They are third on new row. Smack in the middle of the pack. Their pros are that they are pretty balanced overall and do a good job emphasizing and recruiting good academics and involvement. Their cons are that they are uninspiring and not strong socially compared to the houses they generally cross with. So they end up losing pnms to old row, zeta, pi phi, and then they get the best of the rest that meet their academics and whatnot. All the houses are good. ADPi is an excellent house. They are solid middle in a very competitive greek system.

ADP is a bunch of self rankers. A lot of stuff on this site is fake news. Basically if you're an irrelevant house on campus/struggle with recruitment you're automatically super involved and have a great sisterhood. If you're a relevant house on campus and get the top pnms you want, there's automatically something bad with you. We all knew ADP self ranked but they did it SO much this past year and then got heavily exposed during recruitment for not being that great. Truth is, they make the best with what they get but in reality they lose girls to all old row, zeta, aphi, and pbp. They're in a awkward position behind those 3 houses in recruitment and above DG, Gphi, etc. We learned during recruitment pnms don't care how much you shout you're involved. They need better recruitment techniques.

I loved adpi during rush. They're the only sorority that asked me meaningful questions about things that I did in high school and how I was involved and etc. All other houses were kinda random topics and conversations.
