by: ?Okay I know there are SK alum on here as well as other older women who know the current ins and outs of Panhellenic. So on Bid Day my little's mother was there and we were talking... She told me she was a SK at a different school and she knew they were colonizing again here. However she told me that they're not doing formal rush the way other houses are. She said they're doing IWTs but then pulling out and letting girls come to them. Is this true? Because on another post I saw someone say SK is doing something completely different. But the SK mom told me she was very involved in what was going on?

There is a set colonization procedure that every sorority follows when coming to a campus. They may have a table set up during rush next year before holding typical colonization interviews and then a pref party. They can't participate in actual formal rush because they won't have any members yet

Well SK they will "participate" in formal recruitment in the sense that they will bring in young alumnae and some actives from nearby schools (UAB and maybe Auburn) to participate in IWTs before bowing out of recruitment. So, PNMs will attend 17 parties for IWTs, but they will only rank 16 houses at the end of the round. That way girls who are dropped or decide to withdraw from recruitment are already familiar with SK and their colonization.
-Speaking from experience because a chapter colonized on my campus freshman year before I transferred here
