advice?

Does anyone have any suggestions on how to make new friends? lol I know this sounds desperate... but like I mean I have a few friends in my house but we're not super close. and I know a lot of people in general but again, we're not close. I'm a sophomore and it feels like I'm kind of stuck in a rut... has anyone else been in this situation? Or any tips?

If your grades can handle it, get involved and volunteer to help out with house events. The more you put in, the more you get out! People that pitch in or are there for others are valued and bond over shared experiences.

Definitely get very involved!! Consider running for a smaller leadership position even if it's just being part of a committee or two because you'll spend time with those people and bond with them! Also really just put effort into your relationships... It sucks but sometimes you just can't wait for people to come to you. You have to be on top of the plans in order for them to come to fruition.

I was in the same position as you but by the end of sophomore year I was super tight with my house! So many girls tend to go inactive or early alum that the upperclassmen girls get really close. Now I'm a senior and my PC is so so so tight. It gets better!

Keep at it with the sisters as making friends takes time. But, also look outside the house to a group that might have something to do with your major. I do extra club work in my school (business) and truly have found some good friends that aren't greek. The other thing is to find people that share your interests. I've been doing yoga and swimming now for 2 years and have made some good friends in both these places that I value.
