this happens often and it lets's the sorority know where they stand, it can be awkward and it is rude but DZ is now more likely to put her lower on their bid list

This is why I'd be terrible as a Rush chair. If someone was that rude to me, I'd list them first on the off chance their other houses list them lower, then make them miserable until they drop.

I'm petty that way, but wow that is hardcore rude.

I overheard this in kappa today. It's not rude it's being honest realistic and l thankful for the experience

Shame on any sorority that would punish a girl for this if they are brave enough to say this kindly then they do no mean any harm and want to best for everyone

I had a girl tell me that she was a legacy to another house and had her heart set on that house and that house only. We continued to have an excellent conversation, but I’m thankful she did because I really liked her otherwise, and would have probably fought for her in deliberations. But because she was honest, I met a great girl and got to leave my mind open to other PNMs. It’s not rude if it’s done tastefully. But what happens if you tell us that and then your first choice doesn’t want you? You may end up stuck in a house you could be happy in, but everyone knows you don’t want to be there.

I think it's really about your tone and attitude.

If you are going to admit that you aren't clicking with a house or you are clicking with other houses better you have to remember that that house is AMAZING and the active you're talking to LOVES it. It's not that DZ is bad, for example, it's that you like another house slightly more. That's the approach required.
