by: pnmi am very interested in doing COB this year, but i don't know much about it. does COB occur in the fall and the spring? if it's in both, which one should i do to try and maximize my options of getting some invites back? i am honestly clueless about the process, but i am trying everything in my power to take hold of opportunities to get into the Greek life community! i appreciate all helpful and informative responses :)

You need to fill out the COB info form on Panhellenic's website. Panhellenic will distribute the forms to chapters eligible for COB (their membership number has to be below a certain cutoff to participate). If chapters are interested in inviting you to COB events, they will. Or you might not hear from anyone. It's an informal, private process.
Your best bet is to get involved on campus this semester, make a lot of friends in sororities (keep in touch with the girls you met this week & in your dorm!) and study hard to get a high GPA. There seems to be more COB in spring after seniors graduate early and some members either transfer or drop.
